PRESCHOOL

PRESCHOOL TEACHER

Providence seeks a preschool teacher who will be responsible for providing a safe, fun, and developmentally-appropriate preschool classroom experience aligned with Providence’s commitment to incorporate Christian values in the learning process. The teacher will establish routines and provide positive guidance to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of young children (2.5–5 years old).

Lead teacher candidates will have at least 12 units in early childhood education from an accredited college or be currently working on completion of that number of units. A minimum of 6 units is required for assistant teachers.  Additional requirements are a vision for biblically-centered education, the desire and demonstrated ability to teach and mentor preschool children, and excellent communication skills with students, their parents, and members of the community.

PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR (Full Time)

Providence seeks a preschool director who, in partnership with a wonderful group of preschool teachers and the preschool admissions director, will be responsible for creating, nurturing, and sustaining a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool experience aligned with Providence’s commitment to excellence in Christian education. Under the supervision of the head of school, the preschool director will lead and oversee the preschool staff as they establish routines and provide positive guidance to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of young children (2.5–5 years old), including developing activities to introduce math and literacy concepts. The preschool director will work alongside a designated preschool admissions director to manage enrollment, promote the school to current and prospective families, foster parent relationships, and provide a continually excellent experience for our preschool families.

The ideal candidate will meet the California state requirements for preschool directors. Prior experience as a preschool director is highly desirable. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: 

  • – An infectious passion for biblically-centered education that nurtures preschool students
  • – Ability to hire, supervise, and mentor (spiritually and professionally) the preschool team
  • – Excellent communication skills—both written and spoken
  • – Ability to foster positive relationships between parents, students, and teachers
  • – Expertise on the developmental markers of preschool children

The director position is a full-time, year-round, exempt position.
